This report was compiled entirely by the principals and staff of The Roethle Group, Inc.
The following were the primary sources of information.
  1. Interviews with officers and managers of manufacturers of fuel cell systems, suppliers and members of the distribution channels at shows, seminars, investment banking presentations and via telephone or personal visits.
  2. Conventions and seminars included Power-Gen, SUPERCOMM, CTIA, FCTi (Univ. of California-Irvine), DOE/DOD/EPA workshops and seminars. Fuel Cell Seminar 2000-2002, Merrill Lynch Power Seminars/NYC.
  3. Annual reports and 10K reports.
  4. Internet searches to all manufacturers and IOMR companies covered and many other associated players.
  5. Direct contact with many of the federal funding agencies such as DOE (NETL)(FETC), DoD(CERL), US Navy (Installations and Environment), EPA
  6. State Funding agencies including CARB, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey.
  7. Prior to finalization of profiles sent a copy to a company for their review before publishing.
  8. Media including “Fuel Cells Today,” “Hydrogen & Fuelcell Newsletter,” “Batteries Digest Newsletter,” “Fuel Cell Industry Report,” “EPRI Journal,”
    “Battery & EV Technology,” “The Battery Man,” “IEEE Spectrum,” Scientific American” and numerous other private and government publications.
  9. Plant visits to DCH Enable, H Power, Plug Power, UTC Fuel Cell (IFC), FuelCell Energy.
  10. User visits to interview personnel responsible for the FC operating units. (e.g. Ford-Irvine, 1st National Bank of Omaha, Peoples Gas/Chicago, 934th Airlift Minneapolis, Hyatt Regency-Irvine, CA, Chicago Transit Authority)
